Okay get ready for the debut of Wes Mullins, the Musician….

haha.  Okay, I am not a musician, but I do love to write songs and play the guitar (a little less piano).  Over the course of my life I have written about 30 songs, many of which are un-finished and incomplete.  This song is also a work in progress but I am going to unveil it anyway.  It was written about 3 years ago.                                                                                                                                                       —————————  Broken Clay ————(click on the Title to Go to Sound Cloud to listen)

I was having some physical symptoms that I couldn’t emotionally handle and my doctor found nothing wrong.  Not knowing is always worse than diagnosis, at least there is an answer, with speculation you have no limits to measure your fear.  It appears that it was a combination of ungodly amounts stress, way too much caffeine and dehydration.  I was destroying my body with anxiety; the fear of nothing.

One day I took a walk around our apartment’s pond, and this thought crossed my mind, ‘if I do have some great disease, will I stop living?  will I stop being intimate with Jesus?  Is my relationship with Him contingent upon the state of my health, wealth, and my feelings?’  I came to the conclusion that no matter what comes our way in life, it is our responsibility to give it all that we have.  Not that you can’t be angry, sad, or grieving…it’s that you just can’t stay in that frame of mind, it will kill you; probably sooner than just fighting the situation head on.

Feel free to comment, giggle, and poke fun, I am well aware that I am not one of the Three Tenors, Brian McKnight, or Brother’s Hamm, but I do love to sing.  Creating music is just another outlet for me to express me creativity.  As you go on this voyage with me you will begin to see the many avenues I use to create Art.

If you are not a fan of my music that is okay, I have the words to the song below, you can just ignore the hyperlink or mute it while you read the poetic lyrics.  Enjoy!

Broken Clay:

Our body’s broken from the Battle

Our mind’s are frayed from the fight

I hear the Captain calling ‘Onward’, who will answer the call

Who will answer the call

Press in, Press in, Press in to War

Press in, Press in, Deeper in to War

Chorus:

I am a broken piece of Clay

Fallen man in an earthen vase

Like Humpty I jumped from that wall

I kind Rock broke my fall

Verse 2:

I see enemy is retreating

Hangs his head in defeat

Like Christian Warriors pressing forward

Prepare for Victory

Prepare for Victory

Press in, Press in, Press in to War

Press in, Press in, Press Deeper in to War

Chorus:

I am a broken piece of Clay

Fallen man in an earthen vase

Like Humpty I jumped from that wall

I kind Rock broke my fall
